Any good recipes for soup guys? I make a mean leek and potato soup, I'm the king of onion soups and so forth. But tomorrow I'd like to try something else, something a bit more exotic. Something other than spinach or tomato or other regular stuff.

Chili. It's soup with the useless parts removed. Meat only. I've probably experimented with 20 scratch chili recipes over the years, and always go back to the Wick Fowler 2-Alarm Chili Kit. Use equal parts ground beef and pork, or ground sausage if you're feeling daring.

You like chili? I got a mean 3-meat, no beans chili recipe.
Also, chicken soup isn't too hard. Poach some chicken in water seasoned to your liking, after the chicken is done, strain the resulting stock into a pot, add veggies/noodles/chicken.

I LOVE chili, but this is for a family dinner, and they don't like spicy food.

I do love Chili, and I make my own at least once a week, but this is for a family dinner, and my family don't really like spicy food sadly.

No spice? Booooo :( in that case, may I suggest a gulyas/goulash? For authentic Hungarian goodness, avoid recipes that include potatoes.

Goulash is AWESOME, no doubt about that, but I never seem to get them quite right.. you wouldn't happen to have a recipe for a really good one?

I'm trying to find one, but I'm not at home right meow :( basically, coat your stew beef in flour and saute in the bottom of your stew pot with the onions, then add everything else, simmer over low heat to let everything come together, 5 hours or so. Avoid recipes with the stupid elbow macaroni. If anything, put it over bowties with sour cream. Langos on the side :)

Now that sounds amazing.. I'll skip the baby corn though, baby corn is Satans invention.. foul foul stuff :P
But yeah, I think I'll go with that soup, seems pretty easy and tasty. Thanks.

it's typically pretty light with only chicken and straw mushrooms (the lemon grass and ginger root ate just for seasoning) you can make our your own worth whatever veggies you want. I stay with things you would normally find in an Asian stir fry. I only stop eating it when I am in pain from to much volume in my stomach

High degree of difficulty but the Master's recipe works great.

I know it's way too late at this point, but roasted squash & garlic is delicious. Bit of curry powder, some roasted roma tomatoes, and purée it to an even texture. Maybe a few other ingredients, it's a secret family recipe that I haven't been inducted in yet....

Sounds very nice, as for a few other ingredients.. I think this is a recipe you just add stuff that fits/you like. :)
